The CEO and founder of a challenger broadband company is demanding all suppliers across the country scrap their exit fees and above-inflation price rises to help customers get through the cost of living crisis.
The squeeze on households tightened in March as rapidly rising food and fuel prices sent inflation to another 30-year high, even before energy bills spiked. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said Consumer Prices Index (CPI) inflation rose 7% in the year to March, up from 6.2% in February.
Alex Fitzgerald, of Cuckoo, said millions of internet users are seeing annual price rises of nearly 10% just as other bills rocket - but are helpless to react because of exit penalties, often costing hundreds of pounds.
