Call the Midwife series 12: Will there be another season in 2022?

The latest season of Call The Midwife came to an end on February 20, but fans won't have to wait for long as the BBC One series has been re-commissioned for another season.

Season 11 ended with the aftermath of a dramatic train crash, which left Dr Turner (Stephen McGann) Sister Julienne (Jenny Agutter) and Nancy Corrigan (Megan Cusack) in grave danger.

After an emotional finale exploring the aftermath of the crash - and the deaths of two characters, the train driver and the tea lady - the future of the show seems secure, with two more upcoming seasons and a Christmas special in the works.
