Call The Midwife fans were given a huge reason to get excited on Monday, when a photo posted online revealed that filming has started for the new series.
The last series of the hit BBC drama will live long in the memory, due to its incredibly tense finale, brought about by the dramatic cliff-hanger from the penultimate episode, when the train Sister Julienne and Doctor Turner were travelling on came off the rails after the driver suffered a medical emergency, Viewers had to wait a whole week to see if the fan favourites survived. Thankfully they did, but there were still very heartbreaking scenes when the wife of the train driver gave birth to the couple's child, just as she found out about his death.
Many Call The Midwife fans were anticipating they'd be left mourning the loss of one of the show's main characters by the end of the series finale, but, right before credits rolled, the series was brought to a calmer end than most predicted, with Jenny Agutter and Stephen McGann 's on screen aliases safely back in the old.
