Soon gulag knife fights will be possible from grocery store checkout lines as Call of Duty: Warzone is coming to mobile devices.
On Thursday, Activision announced a hiring initiative for Call of Duty: Warzone’s forthcoming mobile incarnation.
“This large-scale, battle royale experience is being built natively for mobile with cutting-edge technology designed to entertain gamers around the world for many years to come,” Activision’s job listing reads. “From production roles to engineering, design, art, marketing, and more, we’re looking for game-makers, passionate fans, and genuinely awesome people to join our diverse team, inspired to deliver the next world-class mobile gaming experience to fans.”
While Activision did not specify any details in the post, this cinfirms Call of Duty: Warzone on mobile isn’t a mere port. Similar to how Apex Legends Mobile is an offshoot of Apex Legends.

Given the wide variety of positions Activision is hiring for, we likely won’t see Call of Duty: Warzone on mobile for quite some time as the project sounds very early in development. There’s a good chance that this and other Call of Duty projects are shuffling around after Microsoft bought Activision. We know Call of Duty will continue releasing on PlayStation despite the acquisition.
