Players will soon be able to access Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, with the mode's release time confirmed.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be officially released on Friday, October 28, 2022 for most people worldwide. But, players who've pre-ordered MW2 have already been enjoying early access to the game's single-player campaign and have been able to play the mode since Thursday, October 20, 2022.
Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer will launch on October 28, 2022 at 06:00 AM BST in the UK, whilst players in Los Angeles will be able to play MW2 multiplayer from 21:00 PDT on October 27, 2022. Players will also gain access to a Special Ops co-op experience at the same time, as well as the campaign for those who didn't pre-order the game.
Activision and Infinity Ward say that the MW2 multiplayer experience will have a robust offering from launch, with modes including Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Headquarters, Control, Prisoner Rescue, Knock Out, Search and Destroy, Ground War and more. MW2 multiplayer will offer two mode categories at launch, Core Map modes and Battle Map modes, with the former being 6v6 and the latter being 32v32.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 single-player campaign features numerous levels including offshore sieges, underwater combat, all-out explosive assaults, low-profile stealth missions and much more. The campaign features feature iconic squadmates including John Price, Kyle 'Gaz' Carrick, Simon 'Ghost' Riley and John 'Soap' MacTavish.
It has also been confirmed by Activision and Infinity Ward that Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, DMZ and Battle Royale modes will launch alongside Modern Warfare 2 Season 01, which is set to begin on November 16, 2022.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is scheduled for release on PlayStation® 5, PlayStation® 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC Battle.net, and PC Steam on Friday, October 28, 2022. Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is scheduled for release later this year on the same platforms.
