A Dumfries woman whose baby granddaughter was diagnosed with cancer at just nine months old is urging people to give blood and help the NHS.

Angela Kearney’s little granddaughter Orla is preparing for her third round of chemotherapy in a bid to beat eye cancer, retinoblastoma.

Angela, 57, said: “Our wee beaut Orla was diagnosed on June 9. Since then she has undergone numerous tests, chemo followed by platelet infusion and blood transfusion.
