A California man, Luis Huato Talavera, 31, has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a disturbing home invasion incident in Riverside County. The incident took place in the Woodcrest area of Riverside, California, where Talavera is facing multiple charges, including home invasion robbery, kidnapping, false imprisonment, and elder abuse.
The Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported that the incident occurred around 3 p.m. on Thursday at a residence on Washington Street. Two suspects forcibly entered the home, assaulted the elderly homeowner, and tied him up before ransacking the property. The victim sustained minor injuries during the assault but received prompt medical attention at the scene.
During the home invasion, the suspects stole two vehicles and several handguns from the residence. Following the incident, one of the stolen vehicles was located, leading to a pursuit by deputies. The chase culminated in Talavera crashing the vehicle in the city of Perris, where he attempted to flee but was apprehended by law enforcement.
Talavera was subsequently booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in connection with the alleged crimes committed during the home invasion. Authorities are actively searching for the second suspect involved in the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
