Caitlin Clark took a hard hit to the head on a flagrant foul from Angel Reese

The on-court rivalry between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese goes back years to their college days at Iowa and LSU. And after Sunday’s game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever, we’re going to hear a lot more about that rivalry.

During the second half, Clark cut to the basket and blew by Reese who was late to recover on defense. Reese tried to make a play on the ball, but in doing so, she struck Clark on the side of the head with her forearm.

While the play didn’t appear to have malicious intent, it was an obvious flagrant foul given the unnecessary contact to the head. The second replay shows that it was significant contact as well.

The officials reviewed the foul and ruled it as a flagrant 1 on Reese.

Clark knocked down the free throws and remained in the game.

After the Fever’s 91-83 win, Reese told reporters that she was going for the ball on the play.
