A Wirral cafe wants to sell alcohol until 10pm despite worries it may lead to anti-social behaviour.
An application for a booze licence at a cafe called Cibo at 90 Banks Road in West Kirby, will be debated next week, with a three-councillor panel tasked with approving or rejecting the alcohol plan. Wirral Council has been contacted by four residents who fear the booze plan will cause anti-social behaviour and public nuisance.
They also worry about the impact the plan may have on parking in the local area. Under the proposal, Cibo will be allowed to sell booze between midday and 9pm from Sunday to Thursday and until 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

The premises will be able to open from 9am every day of the week and until 9pm from Sunday to Thursday and 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The panel will also consider a booze licence application from Kaizen Consultancy and Training Services Limited for a premises on Thingwall Road in Irby.
If the plan is approved, the Irby premises will be allowed to sell alcohol for consumption on site between 9am and 11pm and open to the public two hours earlier, from 7am. Two residents have written to Wirral Council on this application, as they fear the plan could result in public nuisance.
Both applications will be debated at Wirral Council’s Licensing Panel. The panel will meet at 10am on April 21 at New Brighton’s Floral Pavilion to discuss the Irby application, before reconvening at 2pm to discuss the booze plans at Cibo.
