There was a lot left lacking during last night’s game between the Cleveland Browns and Chicago Bears. The offense looked disjointed with QB Jacoby Brissett finally behind center and the first-team defense didn’t make a lot of plays early in the game.
Injuries to S Grant Delpit and OL Wyatt Teller were hopefully minor but DE Chris Odom seemed to have a significant one as he fights to try to make the team’s initial 53-man roster after returning to the league.
Even kicker Cade York missed a 58-yard field goal during the game, his first of the preseason. York’s legend continued to grow despite that miss. He easily hit a 57-yard field goal and followed it up with one from 46 yards out.
His most impressive kick came in warmups. With the wind slightly in his face and using his snapper and holder, not a kicking tee, York hit this 70-yard kick with room to spare:
Yeah York just hit from the opposite 40 with a holder and it went to the fence. 70 yarder! pic.twitter.com/VBJjHVtnRm

Here is another angle from the press box:
Hey @Browns fans, you excited for your kicker yet? Cade York from 70!!!!!!!! pic.twitter.com/u7jKjOb7ET

While it is unlikely that the Browns will ever be in a position to attempt something this long, it is impressive to see York has the leg and accuracy to make it. The NFL record for the longest-made field goal is 66 yards which York is more than capable of connecting.
Now, as many fans have said in response to the above video, York has to prove he can make them consistently.
