Cabling products manufacturer HellermannTyton has completed a multi-million-pound expansion to its Plymouth factory.
The company, which has factories in Plymouth, Manchester and Cannock will open the redeveloped facility in July. The manufacturer hopes that this will create nearly 100 jobs at the Plymouth base, which will also be the home of its training academy.
Based at the Plymouth International Medical and Technology Park in Derriford, HellermannTyton has doubled the size of its current factory by adding a new 3,439m 2 production facility. The new site expansion hopes to support recent developments across a variety of sectors including rail, automotive, and defence, which has "caused a 60% growth in business at the site".
Barry Phelps, commercial sales manager for HellermannTyton, said: “We are delighted to announce that our new Plymouth site is opening in July. The expansion is part of our 10-year plan to reinforce our status as the leading supplier of cable management solutions, and with this, comes our commitment to preparing the next generation of manufacturers.

The HellermannTyton Academy will offer training sessions, seminars, workshops and expert discussions for customers and professionals alike to have product training, develop market knowledge, learn about production and quality, and boost their competency within specialist areas.
