The State Cabinet on Wednesday gave administrative approval for the Detailed Project Report for the greenfield domestic airport to be built in Raichur at a cost of ₹185.57 crore. The DPR has been prepared by Rights India Ltd.
According to sources, the Cabinet has decided to grant remission of sentence to 114 prisoners in different prisons of the State who are serving life sentence. The remission of sentence has been granted to them on the basis of their good conduct.
The Cabinet also granted clearance for setting up the Centre of Excellence in Smart Agriculture in the campus of University of Agriculture Sciences-Dharwad at a cost of ₹51.20 crore.
It also gave administrative approval for the revised estimate of ₹99.93 crore for building the Ramanagaram district Hospital. It also granted clearance for extending the term of the Special Investigation Team created in the Karnataka Lokayukta to look into illegal mining.
The other decisions taken by the Cabinet include approving ₹26.06 crore plan for supplying drinking water to Dharmasthala temple and town, approving revised estimate for building market complex in Suratkal at a cost of ₹76 crore.
