It’s great news so many of us are going away on holiday again.
That’s if we can get away through the chaos by air, sea or land.
Everyone is suffering with staff problems.
Planes are being cancelled, traffic jams are getting longer.
It’s ridiculous as so many have waited to get away.
Let’s not talk about getting your baggage there and back.
I’ve got to point out that I’ve never had a problem at Liverpool airport, ever.
I find all the staff do the job properly but with a pleasantness and humour - unlike an airport up the road - which I find cold and impersonal.
I have a lot of friends who are cabin crew and they are delighted to start flying again.
They meet some great people from all walks of life. Some are nice, and some are downright rude and vile.
I love hearing their stories.
One of my friends told me about a group of passengers the other day, which I will share with you now.
A man, his wife and three children were going to Tenerife on their dream holiday.
They were so excited.
Every time they bought food or drink, the dad kept paying with American dollars.
My friend found this strange, and in the end had to ask this lovely Scouse family why they were paying in this currency.
To which he replied: “I’m taking the kids to Disney in Las Americas.”
She was shocked, but didn’t want to burst his bubble.
He really did think Las Americas was the USA.
How could anyone get it so wrong? You couldn’t make that up.
Imagine the kids looking everywhere for Mickey Mouse.
I love stories like this.
Can you imagine the kids at the water park looking for all the Disney characters?
Dad’s definitely going to have to look for a Mickey Mouse suit when he realises his mistake.
