Byredo has opened its first store in Thailand at Iconsiam. As the brand's first flagship in Southeast Asia, this marks another milestone in the dynamic expansion of its global retail network.
In addition to the signature perfumes, home fragrances, make-up collection and bodycare products, the new store will also feature the other important facet of the brand's offering, Byproduct.
"I built Byredo to be anything -- that's the beauty of it. So, when there is an idea that can't be bottled into a perfume we are free to express it in other ways. It all comes from the same place, everything is a leftover creative thought from something else. It all fits together into the full Byredo narrative," said Ben Gorham, founder and creative director of Byredo.
As an iteration of Byredo's foundational philosophies, Byproduct disregards genre and definition in favour of emotional attachments and instinctive creativity, all realised with an exacting finesse.
Dropped in very limited quantities, each enterprise centres on the importance of craftsmanship outside the industrialised machinations of the beauty industry. Spanning a broad breadth of pieces, Byproduct has previously incorporated everything from fine jewellery to camping equipment.
The focus on artisanship merges seamlessly with the store's interior, featuring the signature interplay of materials that codifies Byredo's visual identity. Leading in from a façade of exposed brick, the interior is cocooned with undulating forms that contrast against the cool geometry of the aluminium-framed vitrines and terrazzo countertops.
