Primark has been a store that only recently, beauty fans can rely on for a cheaper beauty dupes and some of the stores latest products haven't disappointed.
For many of us, this Christmas will be a little more of a struggle with rising costs on bills and household essentials, so more affordable gifting ideas won't go a miss. In comes the Primark beauty range packed with plenty of make up which replicates much pricier alternatives.
According to beauty bloggers, their makeup is a copy-cat of Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk range. With identical lipsticks, mascaras, lipsticks and blushers, I had to try it out.

Charlotte Tilbury has over the years taken the beauty world by storm. With their iconic nude lipsticks and shimmering eye palettes, most of their products are constantly sold out online.
I for one am a huge fan of the brand. But every time I shop for one of their best-selling products, I need to fork out at least £40 for just a few things. I say to myself that it's worth the hype - or is it?
Primark has now offered customers pretty much exactly the same products but for a bargain. I took myself to the nearest store and spent £19.50 on the following products:
- PS Dual Tone Blusher (£4.50)
- PS Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette (£6.00)
- PS Daydreamer Matte Lipstick (£2.50)
- PS Lip Liner Pencil Rumour (£1.00)
- PS Sweet Lipgloss Bittersweet (£2.50)
- PS Sweet Secrets Mascara (£3.00)
First impressions: all the dupes look identical to Charlotte Tilbury. They have clearly been inspired by the Pillow Talk collection which bases its popularity on nude pink shades in their rose gold containers.
I must stress that I did not find the Charlotte Tilbury SPF foundation dupe in Primark during my visit, so therefore on this occasion we have to that rule out. For context I used my Light Wonder foundation in shade 4.5.
The first comparison are the blushers. Primark's blusher is the spitting image of Charlotte Tilbury's Pillow Talk Cheek to Chic (£32) and pretty much works exactly in the same way. My cheek tints were rosy gold - job done.
Moving onto eye shadow. Primark's palette is an identical rip off of the Pillow Talk Instant Eye Palette (£80) and all the shades are exactly the same. I couldn't tell the two apart frankly.
When using Primark's base layer, this was very easy to apply. I then used one of the glitter shades which quickly formed a hard film over the top of my eyelid. In the end, I didn't like the texture, which was a shame.
Next up was lip liner and lipstick. Primark's £1 product was very quick and easy to apply, and did a good job of copying the Pillow Talk Lip Cheat (£19). Not too fussy and you get your money's worth.
The lipstick was spot on a duplicate of the Pillow Talk original (£26). Both had pretty much the same colour, which was hard to get my head around. Beautiful colour, beautiful formula, beautiful packaging. A win all round.
The lip gloss from Primark however was not a winning buy. Although it looked identical to the Pillow Talk Lip Lustre (£19), this bargain lip gloss make my skin sting. It was far too overpowering and had no plumping effect. Sadly, a no from me.
Last but not least is the mascara. Primark's own version did what any mascara does. It dries well and it's not messy, however it does not have the same elongation effect on my lashes as the Pillow Talk mascara (£25). It also lasted for ages, which was a bonus.
If you're wanting a beauty brand that is clean, vegan, accessibly priced and you don't want to spend more than five minutes doing your make-up, Primark is the one for you. Some products are average but it's a huge money saver for your Christmas shopping this year.
