Christmas is an expensive time of year for everyone with the excessive food, drink and parties as well as presents and cards. An added expense is buying a real tree every year and all the extras that go along with that.
A long-term solution could be to purchase an artificial tree which can often be cheaper and last multiple years, saving households hundreds. House and garden retailer Christow found that their artificial tree sales had risen by 800% in August 2022 compared to the year before.
Customers are prepping for the festive season earlier than ever before to help spread the cost. The rise in artificial trees could also be linked to cost as often fake trees will cost much less than real ones.
