Five motorbike riders have been killed in two separate collisions near the same Derbyshire town.
In the first collision, three Ducati motorbikes, a van and a car smashed into each other on the A53 near Buxton at around 9.45am.
All three bikers, men aged in their 50s, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the van, and two people from the car, were also taken to hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Then just half-an-hour later, two motorcyclists died in a collision on the A6 between Buxton and Dove Holes involving a car.
A Derbyshire Police spokesperson said of the deceased in each crash: “Their families are aware and our thoughts with them at this time.”
Police are appealing for witnesses as well as anyone who has dashcam footage in both cases.
