Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, set to speak at the Democratic National Convention, recently offered his perspective on what President Trump should anticipate in the upcoming debate with Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. Buttigieg, a former 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, emphasized Harris' prosecutorial background as a key factor for Trump to consider.
Buttigieg remarked, 'I think he should be preparing for somebody who is going to be very focused. Going back to her days as a prosecutor, she is very focused on getting to the core of an issue, and she will not let somebody escape the core of that issue.'
Kamala Harris has previously served as the San Francisco District Attorney and California Attorney General, showcasing her experience in law and order.
Buttigieg also highlighted several potential debate topics that he believes Harris is well-equipped to address. 'So whether it is how to keep Americans safe, how to lower prices, how to sustain economic growth, I think there’s going to be an extraordinary debate.'
Concluding his remarks, Buttigieg advised, 'And if I were him, I’d be doing a lot of homework right now,' indicating the importance of thorough preparation for the upcoming debate.
