A BUSY train route to Glasgow has been disrupted after a tree fell on the tracks last night amid strong winds.
ScotRail says the Wemyss Bay line is affected and can't currently run any services to Glasgow Central.
Train services heading to the coastal village in Inverclyde will terminate and start back from Port Glasgow.
Network Rail have said response teams are on their way to remove the tree.
A spokesperson for Network Rail said: "Following strong winds overnight, we’re dealing with a fallen tree blocking the Wemyss Bay line – disrupting ScotRail services.
"Our response team are on their way to remove this ASAP.
"We’ll reopen the line as soon as we can."
A spokesperson for ScotRail added: "We're dealing with a tree that is blocking the line meaning we're currently unable to operate train services between Glasgow and Wemyss Bay.
"Train services from Glasgow will terminate and start back from Port Glasgow."
