Edinburgh Leisure has notified their customers in the north of the capital that one of their busiest swimming facilities will be closed for two weeks after it was vandalised.
Bosses say that the swimming pool, sauna and steam room will all be closed for two weeks at Ainslie Park Leisure Centre.
It is understood that the acts of vandalism took place over the weekend of February 10-12 and that the swimming area will not be reopened until around March 1.

The pool is extremely well used with families from across communities such as Pilton, Granton, Drylaw and Muirhouse plus many more using the facilities.
There are also a large number of gym users that also rely upon the swimming pool, sauna and steam room.
In a statement released on their website, a spokesperson for Edinburgh Leisure said: “Unfortunately due to vandalism that took place at Ainslie Park Leisure Centre over the weekend we have had to close our swimming pool, sauna and steam room for approximately two weeks.
“We hope to reopen our pool around March 1st but will update again once we are able to confirm a date.
“Thank you for your understanding and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
An Edinburgh Leisure spokesperson said: “I can confirm that unfortunately due to a break in at the weekend at Ainslie Park Leisure Centre that we have had to close our pool, sauna and steam room for approximately two weeks.
"We hope to reopen around 1st March. The Police are obviously involved and are investigating the matter, assisted by CCTV and other evidence recovered from the scene.”
“It’s so frustrating that the actions of a few individuals can affect so many, especially during the half-term break, when so many customers would have been enjoying Aquadash, the pool and our other facilities.
"However, the safety of our customers is always paramount and as glass entered the pool and surrounding areas, this has resulted in the need for the pool and surrounding areas to be emptied, cleaned, and refilled.
"We would like to apologise to all our customers affected by this and will be in touch as soon as we are able to reopen the pool, sauna, and steam room.”'
