CHON BURI: An estate developer was killed in a collision with an 18-wheel trailer truck making a U-turn on a highway in Bang Lamung district on Thursday night, police said.
The accident occurred about 7.30pm on Highway 331 between kilometre markers 23-24 in tambon Pong of Bang Lamung.
Apisak Phrakhamchanthuek, 41, the driver of the trailer truck owned by S1 Logistics Company, said he had delivered a cargo of salt to Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate in Rayong and was heading back to Prachin Buri. He was making a U-turn on the highway when a black BMW sedan crashed into the middle of the truck.
The car went up in flames. He used a fire extinguisher to douse the flames and found the driver dead inside the vehicle. He called police, Mr Apisak said.
