Drone Tariff Response
China’s commerce ministry urged the U.S. to revoke its tariff measures on drones, saying the U.S. Section 232 measures stretch the concept of national security and discriminate against Chinese products.
Speaking at a regular press conference, commerce ministry spokesperson He Yadong said China opposes the tariffs, which harm Chinese enterprises’ interests, noting that China’s drone exports to the U.S. are mainly used in civilian applications such as agriculture, equipment inspection and entertainment.
Japan Tourism
The number of tourists from the Chinese mainland visiting Japan plummeted 56.3% year over year in the first seven months of this year and fell 56.1% in July alone, data released by the Japan National Tourism Organization showed.
