Bushfire threatening homes near Perth

People in the path of a bushfire in Perth's southern suburbs have been told to leave immediately. (Richard Wainwright/AAP PHOTOS) (AAP)

An out of control bushfire is threatening lives and homes in Perth's southern suburbs, with residents warned to leave now if it is safe to do so.

The fast-moving blaze in Port Kennedy started on Thursday near the intersection of Bakewell Drive and Paxton Way and is burning in a northeasterly direction.
