An uncontrolled bushfire is threatening lives and homes in the town of York in Western Australia's Wheatbelt region.
An emergency warning has been issued for people in the southern part of the town, 97km east of Perth, after the blaze was reported just before 2pm on Wednesday.
Residents should leave immediately if there is a clear path or prepare to shelter in their homes, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services said.
