Bus operator to 'more than double' services across Scottish network

TRAVEL company FlixBus is growing its Scottish network with the launch of a number of new services this week.

The operator has said it is to offer more services on key coach routes for Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and more.

Services between Aberdeen and Glasgow will include four additional departures each way per day, bringing the total to 13 every day.

Elsewhere, services between Aberdeen and Edinburgh are set to run nine times a day each way.

Direct services between Glasgow and the Scottish capital will also increase up to 16 times a day each way, with prices starting from £3.49.

The service will also include Livingston (Deer Park) and Harthill services on the route.

National Entitlement Card holders (NEC) including YoungScot, available for any Scottish citizen up to the age of 21, can travel on all Scottish FlixBus services for free.

Managing director of FlixBus UK Andreas Schorling said: “Our Scottish network will more than double by high summer, giving more opportunities to travel, and these services are free for NEC pass holders.

“Whether it’s checking out the Edinburgh Fringe Festival or enjoying the stunning scenic views from a FlixBus window on the way to Inverness, we’re helping passengers get more out of life, bringing affordable, sustainable travel to all corners of the country.”

The operator also said the additional vehicles will bring dozens of new daily services to Dundee, Perth, Perth park and ride, Stirling and Dunfermline.

People over the age of 60 or with a disability will also be able to use their concession pass to travel on the FlixBus Scottish network.
