Bus driver who lost job for being 'too short' wins appeal victory

A Manchester bus driver who lost her job after she was deemed "too short" to drive buses safely has been reinstated following an appeal.

Tracey Scholes, 57, who is 5ft tall, was told she was unfit for her job at Go North West after a redesign of vehicles left her unable to "reach the pedals to drive" without a blind spot appearing, the Manchester Evening News reported.

Unite the union said the operator had repositioned its wing mirrors on buses, and Mrs Scholes was deemed too short to use them at the same time as reaching the pedals.
