West End's Palace Theatre staging Harry Potter And The Cursed Child damaged after bus ploughs into building

A bus has crashed into the Palace Theatre in London’s West End, police have said.

A spokesperson for the Met said that a bus had mounted the curb and collided with the building on Shaftesbury Avenue at 1pm on Monday.

No one was injured in the incident.

The theatre is home to the hit play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Pictures from the scene show damage to the side of the Theatre and the front of the red bus smashed up.

It is unclear whether the theatre was evacuated.

Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

The Standard has contacted the Palace Theatre for comment.
