Burns Night free burritos on offer as FreshMex gives hundreds away - how to get one

A popular Mexican takeaway chain will be handing out free burritos to hundreds of hungry customers across Edinburgh and Aberdeen today.

FreshMex has announced that it is teaming up with Deliveroo to hand out a total of 264 vouchers to Scots that will be split equally between the two cities for fans to enjoy a hassle-free Burns Night supper.

The amount of vouchers being offered is a neat nod to how many years it has been since our foremost poet Robert Burns was born in 1759.

It means that 132 vouchers will be handed out to both residents in Aberdeen and Edinburgh equally, and it entitles customers to a meal worth £9.95 through Deliveroo.

While the voucher will cover any regular-size burrito of your choosing, the popular eatery is serving haggis burritos, meaning you can grab a unique Burns supper tomorrow.

This includes the chain's Vegan Haggis or Haggis Burrito which consists of a tortilla wrap with lime & coriander rice or refried beans, and your choice of fresh, homemade fillings and toppings.

Ollie Marriage, Regional Manager of Scotland, Deliveroo, said: "We've teamed up with one of Scotland's most-loved Deliveroo restaurants, FreshMex, to give Aberdeen and Edinburgh locals a chance to have their Burns Night supper delivered direct to their doors.

"While a Burrito isn't the first dish that springs to mind when we think of Burns Night, we wanted to combine one of Scotland’s most ordered dishes with Robbie Burns' appreciation of the Haggis. 'Sláinte Mhath!'"

How can you claim the voucher?

Customers will only be able to claim the voucher through FreshMex orders made through Deliveroo today (January 25) only.

The area specific codes to enter into the checkout will be ABERDEENBURNSBURRITO and EDINBURGHBURNSBURRITO - you should enter the code for the city you are based.

Both codes went live Wednesday morning at 9:30 am and will be available until 9:59pm the same day.
