Burnley manager Sean Dyche has heaped praise on new arrival Wout Weghorst and thinks selling Chris Wood for £25million was a smart move.

Newcastle gave Burnley chairman Alan Pace no option but to offload the club’s star striker to a relegation rival when the Magpies triggered a release clause.

The fee raised eyebrows due to Wood - who is yet to score in a black-and-white shirt - being on the wrong side of 30.
