Their football fans are on cloud nine but Burnley and Manchester are at the foot of the table for weather.
Researchers ranked UK places by taking into account sunshine, rainfall and rainy-day data.
Manchester, whose City team are Premier League champs, and Burnley, just promoted into the top flight, both scored just 0.2 out of 10. In fact four of the top five not-so-hot spots are in the North West of England.
At the other end of the scale, Essex city Southend-on-Sea’s score of 9.86 put it top, with Ipswich, Suffolk, and Slough, Berks, second and third.
Business energy comparison firm Utility Bidder drew up the figures using Met Office data. A spokesman for the firm said: “Manchester has less sunshine than any other UK area, as well as the second-highest number of days with rainfall.”
But even if skies are grey, City fans will be basking in the glow of the weekend’s third Premier League victory running.
