It’s 75 years since Myanmar – or Burma, as it was – became independent of Britain after a century of colonial rule, so it’s just the time for this exhibition at the British Museum.
Yet it’s not a happy birthday for Myanmar, given that the country is now associated with military dictatorship and the plight of the Rohinga, and to the credit of the museum, these things are not avoided in this show.
