Teenager Dango Ouattara scored on the stroke of half-time to ensure a 1-0 win for Burkina Faso over Tunisia in their Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final at the Roumde Adjia Stadium.
Ouattara held off two defenders to strike home the ball from close range after a swift counter in the third minute of stoppage time at the end of the first half.
He was played through by Blati Toure, and then held his nerve and his balance to finish brilliantly.
The striker who later got himself sent off, following a VAR review, after an elbow on Ali Maaloul as the pair challenged in the air. The referee initially showed Ouattara a yellow card, but it was upgraded to red after he consulted the replays.
It is the third time in the last five AFCON tournaments that Burkina Faso have got to the semi-finals and they wnext take on the winners of Sunday’s quarter-final in Yaounde between Senegal and Equatorial Guinea.
