A burglary was reported over the weekend at a Virginia campaign office for former President Donald Trump, prompting an investigation by authorities to determine if anything was stolen. The incident occurred on Sunday at an office in Ashburn that is currently being leased by the Trump for President 2024 campaign and also serves as the headquarters of the Virginia 10th District Republican Committee, as stated in a news release from Northern Virginia's Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office was notified about the burglary around 9 p.m. on Sunday. Surveillance footage from the office captured an individual dressed in dark clothing, wearing a dark cap, and carrying a backpack. The investigation into the incident is ongoing to identify the suspect, understand the motive behind the break-in, and ascertain if any items were taken or left behind.
Sheriff Mike Chapman emphasized the rarity of such occurrences, stating, “It is rare to have the office of any political campaign or party broken into.” The authorities are committed to uncovering the details of the incident and ensuring that justice is served.
Both the Trump campaign and the 10th District Republican Committee have not yet responded to requests for comments on the matter. The investigation continues as law enforcement works diligently to gather more information and bring clarity to the situation.
