Burglar fled and left nurse dying on the road after smashing into him in stolen car

A burglar who targeted victims including the Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti manager saw his shocking eight-month crime spree come to an end when he killed a much-loved nurse and dad-of-three.

Shaun Rimmer, who a court heard led a "team of highly-organised, professional burglars" was involved in nearly two dozen break-ins where high-value items were stolen during the early part of 2021

Then, last summer, during a police chase he killed 48-year-old Simon Musabayana, hitting the much-loved dad at speed while behind the wheel of a stolen car before driving off despite his windscreen being shattered and covered in blood reports the Liverpool Echo.
