MUMBAI: As the new workweek began on Monday, a few traders in Mumbai began displaying a gradual reluctance to accept Rs 2,000 banknotes after the RBI declared their imminent withdrawal from September 30.
The resistance stems largely from the fact that shoppers are purchasing items of low value and handing over the big red banknote in a bid to get rid of their burden.
