Police have seized cocaine with a street value around £68 million after bungling drug lords delivered it to supermarkets concealed in banana shipments.
A report published by The Star, stated that supermarket workers in the Czech Republic's capital city of Prague – and the towns of Jicin and Rychnov nad Kneznou – first reported the suspicious blocks when they opened the shipments.
The 907kg (2,200lb) haul of cocaine, apparently from Colombia, arrived via Hamburg in Germany, Europe's second largest port. "Supermarket workers found moulded cocaine cubes in boxes with bananas this afternoon," the police said on Twitter, accompanied by pictures of the loot.
