Bumbling bank robber caught after handing over his own card with name on during hold-up

A knife-wielding thug was caught soon after an unsuccessful bank robbery as he handed over a card with his name on it.

Scott Ferguson, 36, stood in the queue at the Bank of Scotland branch in Partick waiting to be served before being called over by a female worker.

Prosecutor Michael Macintosh told the High Court in Glasgow: "Ferguson used his bank card to check his account.
