Bulls’ Zach LaVine Would Prefer Not to Be Traded to Knicks, per Report

While the future of Bulls guard Zach LaVine remains a looming question, the idea of the 28-year-old landing with the Knicks just had some cold water tossed on it.

LaVine reportedly would “prefer” not to go to New York and join the Knicks, which is one of “multiple reasons” the deal likely won’t happen, according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post.

A source reiterated to The Post this week that LaVine’s camp would prefer not to go to Leon Rose’s squad.

As Bondy notes, this obviously doesn’t mean that a potential LaVine-to-Knicks deal won’t happen. It also doesn’t mean things can’t change over time. But with the market surrounding Chicago’s highly paid guard heating up, the arrow isn’t pointing toward New York for him at this moment, it seems.

LaVine is averaging 21.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while shooting a career-low 40.7% from the field this season. He’s in the second year of a five-year contract worth just north of $215 million, which has a player option for the 2026-27 season.
