The Chicago Bulls don’t have a pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, but that doesn’t mean they won’t stay active. On the one hand, they could attempt to trade into the draft and add a new young prospect, and on the other, they could make a move completely irrelevant to the draft.
Chicago could get in on a three-team deal with other teams or simply attempt to capitalize on the draft night of another franchise. There should be plenty of opportunities for them to make adjustments to their roster, which is in desperate need of an infusion of youth moving forward.
One idea suggested by Elias Schuster of Bleacher Nation would involve a deal with the Golden State Warriors. He suggested that the Bulls ask about a potential Alex Caruso-Jonathan Kuminga trade.
“There has also been a rumor going around that the Golden State Warriors are shopping Jonathan Kuminga,” Schuster wrote. “If I’m the Bulls, and I do plan on taking a step back tonight, I’d call up Golden State and see what they think about Caruso.”
Kuminga fell out of favor with the Warriors throughout the postseason, and now it seems as though his time in Golden State may have come to an end. He wants a larger role, and the Warriors likely won’t give it to him.
Golden State showed an interest in Caruso at the trade deadline this past year, and considering the fact that they may be looking to trade Kuminga anyway, a swap could be of interest to both sides.
