The Chicago Bulls currently sit at 14-19 as the No. 11 seed in the Eastern Conference following a disappointing loss to the Houston Rockets on Tuesday, ending a three-game winning streak.
ESPN’s NBA experts update their NBA Power Rankings every week, which landed the Bulls at No. 23 for Week 11, jumping two spots from last week’s ranking.
Jamal Collier explains:
The goodwill of a season-long three-game winning streak was short-lived, and the Bulls were snapped back to reality with a home loss against the Rockets. Chicago is 5-8 this season against teams with a losing record.
The Bulls are just .5 games behind the Toronto Raptors for the final play-in spot and only three games back of the New York Knicks No. 6 seed in the playoffs. But, Chicago’s upcoming schedule is a gauntlet with matchups with Milwaukee, Cleveland (x2), Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Utah, and Boston.
Once this rough patch of the schedule ends into mid-January, it may be time for the Bulls to pull the plug.
