Bullitt Hotel reopens after fire but rooftop bar Babel to remain closed

A popular Belfast hotel forced to close after a fire has reopened, but its rooftop bar will remain closed until the Autumn.

Bullitt Hotel opened its doors on Thursday just over four months after a fire caused serious damage to two rooms - the kitchen and plant room - at the hotel's rooftop bar.

In a statement to celebrate its reopening, they confirmed its rooftop bar, known as Babel, is undergoing further renovations and plans are in place to reopen in the Autumn.

Beannchor Managing Director, Conall Wolsey said: "We are thrilled to see this day arrive and finally reopen the doors of Bullitt Hotel once again. The closure gave us some time to innovate and renovate parts of the hotel including upgrading rooms, menus, special offers and entertainment packages.

"The Bullitt team is a close-knit community which was missed over the past four months, but we are delighted to have all staff back onsite again and ready to welcome the return of our much-loved and missed guests."

The four-star hotel, named after the Steve McQueen movie, used the closure to undergo renovations, including the introduction of the brand new ‘Biggy’ Rooms, Bullitt’s alternative version of a suite.

The reopening of Bullitt sees a return of Belfast’s ever-popular speakeasy, cocktail bar Rattlebag, where guests can enjoy an innovative rotating cocktail menu. Also making a comeback is the award-winning restaurant Taylor & Clay.

The boutique hotel also has a host of exciting events and collaborations featuring popular local talents lined up for the relaunch, including a courtyard party this weekend, Marion from Sound Advice Belfast for a laid-back Balearic adventure on Friday 12 August and a funky, avant-garde return of Iain McCready with support from Chris Frieze and Never Never on Saturday 20 August.
