Bulla Dairy Foods announces opening farmgate milk price as farmers continue to exit industry

Dairy processors have until June 1 to reveal their minimum farmgate price under the industry's mandatory code. (Twitter: David Williams, @david_vacy)

The first farmgate milk price for the new dairy season has been released, nine days before the deadline for processors to publish minimum prices.

Small south-west Victorian processor Bulla Dairy Foods announced yesterday a price band of $8.80 to $9.60 per kilo of milk solids in what company general manager Rohan Davies described as "a starting position".
