Bukayo Saka rubs shoulders with Hollywood A-lister on night out - "pleasure to meet you"

Bukayo Saka found himself alongside Hollywood royalty as he posed for a photo with actress Natalie Portman.

The Academy Award winner and the Arsenal star were both at Wembley on Friday night as they watched the Lionesses, fresh off their Euro success, and beating World champions the United States. Saka had a large grin of his face, as did Portman, as they were snapped together.

The photo was uploaded to Saka's Instagram story alongside the caption "pleasure to meet you @natalieportman". The Gunners winger was wearing a hoodie and a large coat whilst Portman, who is an avid fan, was donning a football shirt.

It was Saka who saw his country come out on top at the home of football. Sara Wiegman's side continue to impress as they beat America for the first time since 2017. Georgia Stanway scored England's winner in the first-half after Sophia Smith had ruled out Lauren Hemp's opener.

Portman herself has a vested interest in the women's game and is one of several celebrities who have invested in a team. She's an owner in Women's Soccer League side Angel FC and is extremely positive about the future of the game.

On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Portman previously said: “I’m just so excited for the future of women’s football in the USA. A group of us are extremely passionate about this sport because we have the best players in the world in the US — in the most popular sport in the world.

“We won the last two World Cups as well. We got together and we’re bringing Angel City FC, the women’s soccer team for LA to LA... and now we are super excited to just celebrate these incredible athletes. It’s also the first female-led, female investors of any professional sport.”

Saka meanwhile is part of an Arsenal side who sit top of the Premier League after winning seven of their eight games, the latest of which was a north London derby at the Emirates. The winger has become a leading light in north London after emerging from the academy.

He is currently in the process of negotiating a new deal with the Gunners, which could see him almost treble his current wages with a £200,000-a-week contract in the pipeline. Saka's deal runs until 2024 but the club and Mikel Arteta are keen to tie him down long-term.

The Arsenal boss has previously said: “I am very confident that we as a club and Bukayo, his family, his agent, everybody, we are very much aligned in what we want to achieve and now it is about putting it on a piece of paper."
