Bukayo Saka reveals what Mikel Arteta said to Arsenal squad in dressing room after Man Utd win

Arsenal's players aren't getting ahead of themselves despite recording a remarkable 50 points from the first half of the season. The 3-2 win against Manchester United added the gloss to what was already a spectacular rise for Mikel Arteta's men.

It took the Gunners 27 games to reach the same tally last season and they are already just 19 points off their entire haul from last term too. They have only dropped points in three matches and got revenge for their controversial 3-1 loss at Old Trafford earlier this season.

Newcastle and Southampton are the only other teams to stop them. It leaves Arsenal five clear at the top of the table with a game in hand over Manchester City. The vital cog in all of this is that Pep Guardiola's side still have the chance to recoup six points as the two sides face each other twice later in the season.

For that reason, and because City have an extraordinary record of putting winning runs together mixed with Arsenal's own inexperience in this position, the title is far from being done and dusted.

Both Gary Neville and Roy Keane are still backing the champions to mount a serious second half of the season comeback whilst Arteta is keeping his feet firmly on the ground despite showing the full range of emotions throughout the match. The Spaniard said after the game: "I don’t have an opinion.

"It can be a perception [being favourites]. I know my team so well. I know where we are, I know why we are here and I know where we want to be and we are far from that. I know the levels of the other teams and one especially that has won in the last five or six years and we are not there yet."

Saka, on the other hand, explained what Arteta said to the team following the win over Man United. “Obviously enjoy tonight," he said when asked by the Arsenal media team what the Spaniard told the squad.

"Because we deserve to, but next week when it’s time to go again, and the FA Cup we go again to win that game, and when the Premier League resumes again we have to be ready to go again. Each game, each game, each game."

In the next five matches Arsenal will come up against City in the FA Cup fourth round as well as the first of their league clashes too. It's a big run of fixtures and one that could define their season.
