Bukayo Saka has opened up on the pin-point prediction Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold made before they combined for an England wondergoal on Monday night.
Starting in central midfield for the second Euro 2024 qualifier running, Alexander-Arnold yet again made a telling impact at Old Trafford as the Three Lions swept aside North Macedonia with a comprehensive 7-0 verdict. It gave match-goers and those watching on TV more than enough to celebrate.
And it was one particular moment involving Saka and Alexander-Arnold which really caught the eye. Shortly after the interval - with England already three goals to the good - the Liverpool hero dropped his shoulder to launch an assist from 50-plus yards for Saka to net.
While a stunning finish was still needed, the inch-perfect pass from the defender-turned midfielder was a genuine indicator of his unique quality that has been encouraged further by a position change. According to Arsenal winger Saka, the Liverpool man even told him it was coming at half-time.

After taking home the match-ball, Saka was interviewed by Channel 4 on the pitch and that assist was a key topic. He said: "[Alexander-Arnold] is a top player, everyone knows that.
"At half-time, he said to me that he was going to do that pass, so when I did score [the goal] I was looking to thank him, because he did it perfectly.
"I didn't have to break my stride. That's just the quality he has, so credit to him."
In addition to Saka's hat-trick, England captain Harry Kane netted twice - including one from the penalty spot - to extend his record international tally to 58 goals with Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford and Manchester City playmaker Kalvin Phillips also getting in on the act.
