Bukayo Saka Injury Update: Will Arsenal Star Play Against Forest?

Bukayo Saka is facing a race against time to feature against Nottingham Forest, as the Arsenal star recovers from a fresh injury concern.

Bukayo Saka Injury Update For Nottingham Forest Clash

During Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea, Bukayo Saka was forced off in the 81st minute with a new injury concern which came after a previous knock.

In the weeks before the Gunners’ trip to Chelsea, the 23-year-old missed Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth and 1-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk through injury.

Saka appeared to aggravate the knock at Stamford Bridge, which led to his exclusion from Lee Carsley’s final squad selection as England manager.

Mikel Arteta revealed after the Chelsea match that he was worried about Saka’s overall fitness levels and was unsure about the severity of the injury.

Arteta said: “It doesn’t look good, because for two players (Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka) of that importance to tell you they cannot continue in the game, obviously it’s not good news.”

The England international is now facing a race against time to be fit for Arsenal’s next Premier League clash, as the Gunners travel to high-flying Nottingham Forest.

Looking at the bigger picture, Arsenal have an extremely busy festive period and will compete in 10 matches before the New Year.

The Gunners will need their star man in action quickly if they want to win the Premier League, as Liverpool have gained an eight point lead over Arsenal and are favourites to clinch the title on UK betting sites.

If Mikel Arteta’s men are to make up the ground on Liverpool at the top of the table, they will need their best players available. Ahead of the visit of Forest, all eyes will be on whether Bukayo Saka is fit.

So far, Saka has scored four goals in the Premier League and has consistently been one of Arsenal’s most important players and has donned the captain’s armband on a few occasions.

It’s not just Mikel Arteta that will be hoping for a fully fit Saka to return, as approximately 25% of FPL users have the Englishman in their teams.
