Bukayo Saka and Aaron Ramsdale to start for England as Arsenal face nightmare preseason scenario

Arsenal duo Aaron Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka are set to start England's Nations League match with Hungary at Molineux on Tuesday night football.london understands. Ramsdale will be making his third appearance for the Three Lions after keeping clean sheets on his first two starts against San Marino and Italy, while it will be cap number 15 for Saka.

It caps off what has been a busy international period for the Gunners' first team players. Emile Smith Rowe and Folarin Balogun both started the England under-21s 2-1 defeat to Slovenia on Monday night, while Granit Xhaka and Martin Odegaard featured in Switzerland and Norway's respective victories on Sunday.

This final set of international fixtures comes just under two weeks before Arsenal's players are expected back at London Colney for pre-season on June 27th. This kicks off a crucial preparation period for Mikel Arteta's side as they seek to bridge the gap to the top four next season.

The Gunners will be at their training ground for a week before heading out to Germany for a pre-season training camp. This will see them undergo intense pre-season preparation over a five day period at the state of the art Adidas’ HQ in Herzogenaurach which culminates in a friendly game against FC Nurnberg on July 8th.

Arsenal will then return to London before travelling out to America on the 13th. The tour of the States will then see them take on Everton in Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium on July 16th, before travelling back to Orlando to play Orlando City and Chelsea on the 20th and 23rd. They will then travel back to London on the 24th.

Having arrived in London the club are hoping to arrange a behind closed doors friendly at Colney before they host Sevilla in the Emirates Cup on July 30th. The Premier League season will then get underway on August 6th.

While the players involved in international duty will not be back for pre-season on the 27th, it is still a relatively quick turnaround for many of them. This season in particular promises to be an intense one due to the World Cup in Qatar, the final of which will take place on December 18th, with Premier League football scheduled to resume on Boxing Day.

It will be a far from ideal situation too for Arteta, who will have to be without several of his most important first team players for the beginning of his preparations for the upcoming campaign.
