A 1,050-acre historic farm in Chestertown, Maryland, built in 1743 and kept in the same family for generations, has been put up for sale, according to a real estate report by The Wall Street Journal. The large Eastern Shore property has strong links to American history. During the War of 1812, it was the site of the Battle of Caulk's Field, where Maryland militia fought British forces in late August 1814. For more than 200 years, physical remains of the battle, including musket balls, uniform buckles and pieces of military equipment, have remained buried across the farm.
