Buffy star Michelle Tratchenberg hits back at trolls commenting on 'thinning hair' and 'yellow eyes'

Buffy and Gossip Girl star Michelle Trachtenberg has hit out at "haters" attacking her looks online.

The actress who played Dawn Summers in Buffy and Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl, now 38, has spent the past week battling trolls on Instagram.

It seems to have stemmed from a post shared by the former child star last Wednesday in which she shared a picture of herself ahead of getting her hair done at a salon.

One user commented: "Michelle [you] look sick. [Are you] ok?"

Trachtenberg replied: "Explain to me how I look sick. Did you lose a calendar and not realise I'm not 14? I'm 38. How sad for you to leave such a comment."

The following day, the New York native shared another selfie showing off her newly-dyed pink-tipped locks and addressed the "haters" in the accompanying caption, writing: "I've received several comments recently about my appearance. I have never had plastic surgery. I am happy and healthy. Check yourself haters."

She uploaded two further selfies on Wednesday, which attracted further comments, with fans clarifying that they are not worried about plastic surgery or malnutrition but rather her "thinning hair and yellow eyes".

"Nobody is talking about plastic surgery. They are talking about your liver shutting down," responded one Instagram user.

"I really don't think anyone was implying you had plastic surgery. We are generally concerned about you," one person wrote.

"Your eyes are yellow, your hair is [thinning] majorly, you look sick," agreed a second.

'"People are just worried that your eyes are yellow and all your hair is falling out," remarked a third.

Adding: "I think they are worried for your health."

While another warned: "Anyone with yellow eye balls is not well and needs to see a doctor."
