A young water buffalo caused chaos on a major road in Pathum Thani, where it was seen running against the traffic flow before being safely captured on Tuesday morning.
Video posted on Facebook by JS100 Radio showed the animal cavorting along the centre lanes of the main carrageway of Phahon Yothin Road, between the Royal Thai Mint and HomePro Rangsit in Khlong Luang district about 8am.
Motorists reported seeing the animal running in the Bangkok-bound lanes against oncoming traffic, raising concerns about road safety.
The buffalo was safely captured and the situation brought under control. It was not known where the buffalo came from.
No accidents were reported, and no injuries - to either human or bovine road users.
